"The process of awakening brings you into a struggle with every habitual way you have of thinking about the universe... because every one of them has you locked into being some facet of who you think you are."

 - Ram Dass -

Welcome to Asta Facilitation
Anup Karia and Stanya Studentova founded Asta Facilitation in 2008  to assist and coach individuals, organisations, NGOs, businesses, schools and universities and communities on conflict facilitation, diversity awareness, group and team dynamics, change management and leadership development.
We work both locally and internationally and also conduct ongoing professional trainings and personal growth workshops.

Our approach is base d on  Worldwork , the sociological sister of   Process Work (developed by  Dr. Arnold Mindell ) which is an awareness method combining psychology, spirituality, quantum physics and aboriginal wisdom into a single paradigm to facilitate individual and collective change.

Worldwork is  a cutting edge systemic and multi dimensional framework working deeply with conflicting positions and diverse agendas in both large and small group settings. This framework provides skills for working with challenges at every level within a system from individual to systemic and harnesses the creativity implicit in the conflicts and difficulties we face.

The background of our work has been laid down through our life experiences  of growing up in Czechoslovakia and Kenya and continues to be forged through working together and living in multi cultural London.

We share a deep interest in seeking what lies beyond the boundaries of our everyday lives and limitations, and in discovering and engaging with diversity issues that both enrich and trouble us as individuals and communities.

We are both qualified process workers and UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) accredited psychotherapists with a combined experience of over 30 years working in various social care, educational, non governmental and statutory organisations in the UK, Czech Republic, Kenya, Ireland and Slovakia.
MEET THE TEAM
ANUP KARIA
STANYA STUDENTOVA
Anup is the co-ordinator of studies and a faculty member of RSPOPUK ( the UKCP accredited Process Work school)  teaches process work, supervises students in the UK and internationally, runs seminars and has a psychotherapy and consultancy practice in London. He also consults with a number of organizational teams working with individuals and communities in the fields of violence, abuse and trauma.

In the past he has worked extensively in the fields of mental health and trauma and in the NHS managing a psychotherapy team.
In the early nineties he pioneered the first counselling and support service exclusively for Black and Asian gay men in London.

He is a facilitator at heart, devoted to discovering how our deepest direction (as individuals, groups or the collective) can be sensed through awareness of subtle  moments of instability, conflicts, symptoms, dreams, chance events, and the subtler flirts and sentient experiences.

I hold a masters degree in psychology and a diploma in process oriented psychotherapy and facilitation. Currently I live and work in London. I use my psychology education in many areas of my work, as psychotherapist, coach, teacher, consultant with teams and supervisor in clinical and non clinical supervision. As a former art teacher I have a deep interest in “beauty”, creativity and creative processes.

Processwork has enabled me to take this interest even more into my everyday life – finding creativity and beauty in different situations and challenges that I face, and being able to support others to do the same. Whether working with individuals or groups I seek to unfold the creative direction in the moment, or just simply find the direction in our life and have the “guts” to live it. Art and artistic expressions on other hand enrich greatly my practice as a facilitator and psychotherapist. I also specifically work with artists, coaching and facilitating them around the challenges of their creative work.

As I am realizing more and more the importance and value of creativity for my own well being and sanity, I feed my life long passions for photography, pottery and textile art, and lately contemporary dance.

As an RSPOPUK faculty member I am engaged with, and teach students in UK and in Europe. I also lead a Processwork training programme under IPOP in the Czech republic.
